Our biodiesel production plant is located within the Curtis-Teixeiro industrial park. Located on Calle Mesía, plot E-11, in the province of A Coruña.
The plant has an annual production capacity of 30,000 tons of biodiesel and 3,000 tons of glycerol.
The raw material we use comes from waste vegetable oils and animal fats.
The proximity of our plant to the ports of Ferrol and Vigo, contributes to an efficient supply and sale of the product, thus reducing CO2 emissions.
Biodiesel is a biofuel obtained through a process called transesterification, from used cooking oils, oleins and second-use animal fats. After pretreatment and chemical reactions, the residue is transformed into biodiesel suitable for use in internal combustion diesel engines.
This product is mixed with fossil fuel diesel oil, in different percentages, thus contributing to the reduction of emissions which gives us the best alternative to replace traditional diesel oil totally or partially. Biodiesel is presented as an environmentally friendly alternative for powering diesel engines. By using this type of fuel, we contribute to reducing CO2 emissions and, consequently, to slowing down global warming.
Biodiesel means making progress without jeopardizing the energy supply of future generations.
Biovigo Energy produces biodiesel in compliance with European and American standards, according to UNE EN 14214 and ASTM D6751.
Glycerol obtained as a by-product in the biodiesel manufacturing process (transesterification stage).
Multiple applications: biogas plants, component in construction additives, pharmaceutical industry, cosmetic industry, food and chemical sector.
Biovigo Energy S.L. has in the process of accreditation the traceability of the products and by-products it markets, complying with European sustainability regulations, the RED Renewable Energy Directive (2009/28/EC) and Directive (EU) 2018/2001 (consolidated version) of the Parliament European and Council of December 11, 2018, regarding the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources, through the ISCC EU RED II certification.
